What can I do?"Being an ONA member means you have a voice in advocating for patient's rights and your rights as a h ealth care professional, and lobbying for needed changes to the health care system. This is extremely important as we continue to face privatization of health care services, a devastating nursing shortage and difficult working conditions that affect your ability to provide safe quality patient care." (Quote from our President Linda Haslam-Stroud , RN) We work, live and breathe health care, we also suffer from the radical budget cuts that the province hands out and the political tactics our hospital use. This is all done on the backs of the nurses working diligently on the front lines to maintain patients care at the highest level. Increased workloads, increased stress, increased absenteeism, increased workplace injuries, were will it stop. It's time to fix health care today and for the future, stop pushing the problem act today. Take 10 minutes of your precious time and make a difference, call, write your MPP or better yet, let your neighbor know what really is happening to health care. " You are the union; together we can make a difference " Susan Blair First Vice Coordinator Local 83
